The Metro

I'm alone
sitting with my empty glass
my four walls
follow me through my past
I was on a Paris train
I emerged in London rain
and you were waiting there
swimming through apologies

I remember searching for the perfect words
I was hoping you might change your mind
I remember a soldier sleeping next to me
riding on the Metro

You wore white
smiling as you took my hand
so removed
we spoke of wintertime in France
minutes passed with shallow words
years have passed and still the hurt
I can see you now
smiling as I pulled away

I remember the letter wrinkled in my hand
"I'll love you always" filled my eyes
I remember a night we walked along the Seine
riding on the Metro

I remember a feeling coming over me
the soldier turned, then looked away
I remember hating you for loving me
riding on the Metro

I'm alone
sitting with my BROKEN glass
my four walls
follow me through my past
I was on a Paris train
I emerged in London rain
and you were waiting there
swimming through apologies(sorry)

I remember searching for the perfect words
I was hoping you might change your mind
I remember a soldier sleeping next to me
riding on the Metro

Bldg 1

Located on the oldest military installation west of the Mississippi, Jefferson Barracks, sits Bldg 1. It is in fact the eastern most building overlooking the mighty Miss! Located adjacent to the south of JB is the Jefferson Barracks National cemetary. Some say that many of these historic buildings are haunted or have the spirits of fallen soldiers and prisoners still lurking

Stick a fork in it!

They are done! Especially since they are Buffalo Wild Wings boneless Hot BBQ. Sorry but I had to eat one of the mandatory four that are required on the special day! I think some 45 cents?
NTN in the background, I broke the 350k mark!

N90 vs W800

Found this story over at Digg comparing the Nokia N90 to the Sony Ericcson W800. Looks like the SE W800 is the clear winner. However, Cingular is not offering that model, yet. I think I'll go with the SE710 unless the lineup changes in November.

My GF

My 2004 Gary Fisher Cake 2 DLX with new Specialized 05 HOUFFALIZE 2BLISS TIRE. At 1.80 they are indeed a change from normal MTB tires, especially from the 2.10 that I swapped out because of a torn tread from a construction lot nail. They take a little getting used to on loose gravel, but they are fun and fast!

Yes, the '96 Ford T-bird is for sale and in excellent condition.

Once again crappy photos from the SE T616; once november comes around I'm upgrading. I'm now considering the SE 710, but a lot can change in the cell phone business in 3 months.

iTunes

Another burning question I had was the ability to rotate images taken from my phone-cam. Apparently, there is no easy way to do it with the blogger interface, and I'm not so sure there is anyway to do it via HTML. Regardless, in an effort to keep up with my blog I've posted a pic of my iBook playin my iTunes with a landscape shot from my SE T616 in L(arge) mode. "Livin on sponge cake...

pic post test

This is one of my favorite pics! I'm using this to learn the HTML that justifies the text to the left of the photo. I'm not sure what cam this is, but I can later verify it, but I'll guess that it's Ed's Kodak! Do I need to write enough words here to fully appreciate the test of wrapping around the photo?

update: Photo was taken by Ed with a Kodak CX4300

Fuji 3800

This is my Fuji Finepix 3800 digicam. After talking to my sis about how to take better photos, she convinced me to research the Canon Rebel. Steve's digicams gives the Canon Rebel XT high marks, and now I of course want one! So if anyone wants to contribute to my wish list fund, it would be very much appreciated.

I took this pic with my SE T616, and obviously it is terrible quality. I used the small setting; the SE T616 has only small and large. Additionally, I would like to have a better cam-phone. I'm eligible for upgrade in Nov, and have considered 3 different models. The LG seems to be the best for cam, but I'll see what happens in a couple months.

The Tower

The Tower

UMSL students should recognize this building, since it is quite commonly referred to as the Tower!
I did my training for climbing Mt. Whitney in this building, doing the stairs. Unfortunatley, and probably best for my training, I never was able to wander into the faculty lounge with the incredible view! I would suck down water from the fountain, and try to descend at an appropriate rate, considering that it was 13 floors!

Jalapenos

Fresh jalapenos. Photos taken with the Fuji using various setting in white balance, EV, flash, and aperature priority. The second photo was taken using the macro setting.
